Using a combination of social media research and speaking with tattooers directly, the web of shops and artists was created. Created using Esri mapping software.
The History
The written and oral history of tattooing in the Greater Cincinnati area, 3500 BCE to today. Some of these stories were collected from history books, some from artists who lived them.
The Newspaper Archive
An assortment of articles published in local newspapers over the years, accessed through the Cincinnati Public Library's online newspaper & magazine archive.
